A Chef's Life

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 1 September 2026

These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of the A Chef's Life website, resources, digital programs and coaching services. By using our website, downloading a resource, purchasing a product or service, or participating in coaching, you agree to these terms.

1. About A Chef's Life

A Chef's Life is operated by Jason Slade in Queensland, Australia. We provide sobriety education, lived-experience resources, digital programs and coaching designed to support adults who want to change their relationship with alcohol and rebuild their lives.

2. Important health and safety information

A Chef's Life does not provide medical care, mental health treatment, diagnosis, detoxification or emergency services.

Our resources and coaching are educational and supportive. They are not a substitute for advice, assessment or treatment from a doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, addiction specialist or other qualified health professional.

Stopping or significantly reducing alcohol can be medically dangerous for some people. If you drink heavily, have experienced withdrawal symptoms, have a relevant medical condition or are uncertain whether it is safe to stop, seek medical advice before making changes.

If you believe you may be experiencing a medical emergency, severe withdrawal, a mental health crisis or an immediate risk of harm, call Triple Zero (000) in Australia or contact an appropriate emergency service where you are located.

3. Eligibility

Our general resources, programs and coaching services are intended for people aged 18 years or older. By purchasing or participating, you confirm that you are at least 18 and legally able to enter into an agreement.

We may decide that a service is not suitable for a person or that a higher level of professional or clinical support is required. Where appropriate, we may decline or discontinue a service and encourage the person to seek qualified help.

4. Free resources and email communication

When you request the Free Rebuild Guide or another resource, you are responsible for providing accurate contact information. We may send the requested resource, service messages and, where permitted, relevant emails about sobriety support, programs and coaching.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Our handling of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

5. Digital programs and coaching

Depending on your purchase, our services may include digital lessons, worksheets, guides, emails, group or private communication, accountability support, scheduled coaching sessions or other resources described on the relevant sales or checkout page.

The description, inclusions, delivery period, price and any purchase-specific conditions shown when you buy form part of your agreement with us. If there is a clear inconsistency, the purchase-specific terms shown at checkout apply to that purchase, subject always to applicable law.

6. Personal responsibility and results

Changing your relationship with alcohol is personal and results vary. We do not guarantee sobriety, a particular health outcome, financial improvement, repaired relationships or any other specific result.

You remain responsible for your decisions, actions, safety, medical care and use of the information provided. Testimonials and examples describe individual experiences and do not promise that another person will receive the same result.

7. Prices and payment

Prices are displayed in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise. You agree to pay the price and any payment schedule presented at checkout.

Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. You authorise that provider to process the applicable payment. If a scheduled payment fails, access to a paid service may be paused while we contact you and attempt to resolve the payment.

8. Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds

Any cancellation, rescheduling or change-of-mind terms stated on the relevant sales page, checkout page or coaching agreement apply to that purchase.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Where a product or service fails to meet an applicable consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy such as a repair, replacement, resupply, cancellation or refund, depending on the circumstances.

To request assistance, a cancellation or a remedy, contact us at [email protected] with your name, purchase details and a description of the issue.

9. Coaching appointments

Where your purchase includes scheduled appointments, please attend on time and give as much notice as reasonably possible if you need to reschedule. Any specific notice period or missed-session condition will be stated in your coaching agreement or booking information.

We may need to reschedule a session because of illness, emergency or circumstances outside our reasonable control. If that happens, we will offer another reasonable time.

10. Respectful participation

You agree not to misuse our website, programs or communication channels, interfere with another person's participation, impersonate another person, distribute harmful material or behave in a threatening, abusive, discriminatory or unlawful way.

We may restrict or end access where reasonably necessary to protect participants, staff, systems or the integrity of a program. Where a paid service is affected, any refund or other remedy will be considered under the purchase terms and applicable law.

11. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the website, Rebuild Method, guides, videos, worksheets, program materials, branding and other content provided by A Chef's Life are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use purchased or downloaded materials for your own personal use. You must not copy, reproduce, sell, license, publish, upload, teach from, modify or distribute the materials without our prior written permission, except where permitted by law.

12. Your submissions and confidentiality

You retain ownership of material you submit to us. You give us permission to use that material only as reasonably necessary to deliver the service, communicate with you, maintain appropriate records and operate our business.

We take reasonable care with information shared during coaching. However, confidentiality may be limited where disclosure is required or authorised by law or where we reasonably believe action is necessary to address a serious and imminent safety concern. Our Privacy Policy provides more information about how personal information is handled.

13. Website availability and external services

We aim to keep our website and digital services available, but uninterrupted or error-free access cannot be guaranteed. Maintenance, internet outages, platform changes or events outside our reasonable control may interrupt access.

Our website and programs may link to or rely on third-party services, including payment, booking, email, video and hosting providers. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content or conduct outside our reasonable control.

14. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, A Chef's Life is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the website, resources, programs or coaching.

Where the Australian Consumer Law or another law gives you rights or remedies that cannot be excluded, those rights and remedies continue to apply. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify them.

15. Ending access

You may stop using our website or free resources at any time. Paid services may be ended in accordance with the purchase-specific cancellation terms and applicable law.

We may suspend or end access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to make an agreed payment, misuse the service or create a safety risk. Where practical, we will explain the concern and give you a reasonable opportunity to address it.

16. Changes to services or these Terms

We may improve, replace or discontinue website content or services from time to time. We will not materially reduce a paid service already purchased without providing a reasonable alternative or any remedy required by law.

We may update these Terms when our services, business practices or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this page with its latest update date. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights that have already arisen.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and applicable Commonwealth laws. The parties submit to the courts with jurisdiction in Queensland, subject to any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

18. Severability and entire agreement

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. These Terms, together with the relevant sales page, checkout terms, coaching agreement and Privacy Policy, form the agreement between you and A Chef's Life regarding the applicable service.
